        Harold Rutman started out selling record players and albums door to door. He than opened General Furniture in downtown Westerly, Rhode Island. As his lease was running out, he was able to buy an empty night club in nearby Pawcatuck, CT, and create Rutman's Wayside Furniture. He served the families of nearby Connecticut and Rhode island well for forty years when his newly married son-in-law, Len Epstein came on board.
  

        Sandra (Rutman) and Leonard Epstein continue Harold Rutman's mission of serving the local communities as a locally owned and operated independent store, while keeping pace with the ever changing needs and  lifestyles of the local community.
